The Calgary Chamber of Commerce has officially unveiled the winners of the 2025 Small Business Awards, a much-anticipated event presented by Rogers Business. These accolades, spanning eight dynamic categories, shine a spotlight on the innovative spirit and sheer resilience that fuel our city.

These aren't just awards; they're a powerful recognition of the economic engine that drives Calgary. Small businesses form the backbone of our economy, accounting for a staggering 94-95 percent of all enterprises in the city and employing nearly half of Canada's private labour force. They contribute an impressive $129 billion to Calgary's economy, fostering job creation, generating wealth, and shaping our unique community character.

From outstanding customer service to cutting-edge sustainability initiatives, the recognized businesses reflect Calgarians' growing demand for local and ethically conscious choices. This celebration comes as many small businesses navigate ongoing challenges like rising costs, with 52 percent citing expenses as a major obstacle to growth. The Chamber continues to advocate for supportive policies, including potentially eliminating the provincial small business tax, to ensure these vital enterprises can thrive.

The winners were celebrated at the Calgary Chamber's Small Business Awards Gala on October 24, part of the wider Small Business Week running from October 21-25.
