Calgary Police Seek Help in Identifying Suspect in Erin Woods Assault

Calgary Police are on the case and need your help to identify a man involved in a hate-motivated assault in Erin Woods. On Monday, June 30, 2025, at around 4:45 p.m., an incident occurred on Calgary Transit Bus Route 23. After exiting near 52 Street and Erin Woods Drive S.E., the suspect allegedly assaulted another individual while shouting racial slurs. He then fled in a black SUV heading towards 17 Avenue S.E. The suspect is described as between 5’7” and 6’ tall, with a medium build, and was wearing a dark baseball cap and grey top at the time. Hate motivation, if confirmed, can lead to increased sentencing. There’s a zero-tolerance policy for hate in Calgary.
