Keeping Halloween Fun, Not Frightful: Safe Streets for Calgary's Trick-or-Treaters
Calgary’s streets are about to be flooded with pint-sized superheroes, spooky ghosts, and adorable witches! To keep our little ghouls and goblins safe, the much-loved Partners for Safety program is officially back on October 31, 2025.
From 6 to 8 p.m., hundreds of vehicles from Calgary’s Child Magazine, Calgary Police Service, Alberta Health Services EMS, Calgary Fire Department, Calgary Transit, Calgary 9-1-1, and Calgary Bylaw will be out in force, providing a watchful presence across our neighbourhoods. It’s a familiar sight for many Calgarians, as this collaborative effort has been safeguarding Halloween for three decades.
With Calgary's October evenings often bringing chilly temperatures, it’s a good reminder for parents to layer up costumes and ensure kids are visible to drivers with bright colours or reflective tape. This proactive presence by our city’s first responders and partners reinforces critical pedestrian safety, a perennial focus for Calgary families. Should any trick-or-treaters encounter an issue, they can confidently approach any of these uniformed partners for assistance. It’s just one more way Calgary comes together to keep our community vibrant, safe, and full of Halloween spirit, alongside other family-friendly events like Pumpkins After Dark at WinSport.
