Blazing Battle in Livingston: Duplex Fire Update

Fire alert, cowboys! On September 20th, 2025, the Calgary Fire Department charged into action at 2:00 PM, responding to a fiery scene on the 100 block of Calhoun Common in Livingston. Flames and smoke were shooting through the roof of a two-story duplex, threatening to spread to neighboring homes. As firefighters lassoed in with large hose lines and aerial streams, local heroes and neighbors pitched in to help evacuate one occupant before the professionals could arrive. Thanks to the quick wrangling by our brave CFD and a little Wild West teamwork, a second structure was saved, though the original duplex didn't fare as well. Five folks were safely displaced, with one adult needing a bit of medics' TLC and a child transported as a precaution. The Calgary Police, ATCO, and Enmax rode in to secure the area and utilities. Remember, keep those smoke alarms ready; they can be real lifesavers!
