Women Seek Safe Spaces for Financial Guidance

A new Ipsos study, released today, highlights a clear and growing demand for women-only financial spaces. It turns out many women are actively seeking environments where they can comfortably discuss money matters. This isn't just about knowledge; it's about comfort and confidence.

The study, published November 10, 2025, reveals that while older adults generally show higher confidence in managing their finances, younger women, especially those under 35, are particularly keen on finding safe spaces to ask questions and build their financial literacy. This resonates strongly in our city, where initiatives like Movement51, in partnership with the University of Calgary, offer a "Financial Feminism Investing Lab." It provides a safe, non-judgmental space for women to delve into early-stage investing, with 70% of its over 200 graduates based right here in Calgary.

The need for tailored financial education and support systems is crucial to bolstering women's financial independence. Consider this: Canadian women are projected to control nearly $4 trillion in assets by 2028, almost doubling from today's $2.2 trillion. Yet, despite this growing economic power, many still face hurdles in translating that influence into personal financial confidence. Empowering these discussions is key to truly unlocking that potential.
