Big Moves in Calgary's Energy Scene: Paramount Resources Unveils Major Plans
Calgary-based energy player Paramount Resources Ltd. delivered a solid performance update on November 4, 2025, announcing its third-quarter financial and operating results. But the real headline for the local energy scene is the company's significant move to sanction its Montney gas development at Sinclair.
This new Sinclair Montney Project in Alberta isn't just a ripple; it's a wave, designed to achieve a plateau rate of sales gas exceeding 50,000 Boe/d, a robust output planned to be maintained for over two decades. This bold step aligns perfectly with Calgary's strategic positioning as a hub for natural gas innovation, especially as Alberta looks to cement its role as a global supplier of responsibly sourced natural gas, with a keen eye on expanding LNG access to international markets. The local energy sector is currently navigating an expected rebound in natural gas prices for 2025 after a challenging Q3.
Paramount is also continuing the ramp-up of the first phase of its Alhambra Plant and pushing forward with construction of the second phase. The company projects impressive production growth, targeting over 100,000 Boe/d by the end of 2027. For 2025, Paramount has already raised its annual midpoint production guidance, now expecting annual sales volumes between 38,500 Boe/d and 42,500 Boe/d. Cash from operating activities for the third quarter of 2025 stood at $42 million, underscoring the company's strong operational footing.
