Rise 'n' Shine! Nomination Day Kicks Off for Calgary's 2025 Election

Y’all ready for election season in Cowtown? Today’s the big day—Sept. 22, 2025—aka Nomination Day for Calgary’s General Election. If you’re aiming to throw your hat in the ring for the October 20 showdown, you better hustle. The deadline is noon sharp! Here’s what you need: a notice of intent (if it’s not already in), completed Nomination Paper, Candidate Financial Info, a criminal record check, and a $500 deposit for mayoral hopefuls ($100 for councillor/school board trustee). All submissions must be in-person at Elections Calgary's office at 2340 22 St. N.E. Doors open from 8:30 a.m. till noon—no RSVPs accepted. Got cold feet after your nomination? No worries.
