Safety at the Falls
The falls earned their name from a rock formation that some say resembles a troll's skull. Years ago, hikers hid troll dolls along the route, but Alberta Parks strongly discourages this as it's considered litter and can encourage people to climb into unsafe areas. For your safety, obey all fences and barriers near the waterfall—they are in place due to rockfall hazards.
Optional Challenge
If your crew is up for more, you can continue past the lower falls to the Upper Troll Falls and Marmot Falls. This section is steeper and more rugged, adding an extra kilometre or so of hiking.
