Canadian Utilities Reports Q3 2025 Earnings and Progress on Key Projects
Canadian Utilities Limited has reported a strong third quarter for 2025, with earnings climbing to $108 million, an increase from $102 million in the same period last year. Earnings attributed to equity owners also saw a significant boost, reaching $100 million, up $88 million from Q3 2024. CEO Bob Myles credited robust operational and financial performance for these positive results.
The company is making strategic progress on key infrastructure initiatives, including the Alberta Utilities Commission's approval of the Needs Assessment Application for the Yellowhead Pipeline Project, with construction anticipated to begin in 2026. Another pivotal development is the Central East Transfer-Out Project (CETO), designed to enhance Alberta's energy infrastructure and support renewable energy integration. This project is slated to be energized by June 2026.
These investments, including $402 million in capital during Q3, underscore Canadian Utilities' focus on regulated utilities and align with Calgary's ongoing efforts to solidify its position as a leader in Canada's energy transition. The city is actively developing its clean energy infrastructure, with initiatives aimed at increasing renewable energy generation and fostering innovation in clean technologies. Calgary is recognized as an energy epicentre, leveraging its existing infrastructure and talent to drive the shift towards a low-carbon economy. The CETO project's support for renewable integration directly contributes to this broader provincial and civic objective.
Company executives are scheduled to discuss these developments further during a teleconference on November 7.
