Calgary Police Officer Faces New Theft Charges from Hardware Stores

Calgary Police Service Cst. Bradley Tepper, a 20-year veteran of the force, is facing a substantial expansion of charges in connection with a series of alleged thefts and frauds at hardware stores across Calgary and the surrounding region. Initially charged on August 26, 2025, the 52-year-old officer was relieved of duty without pay the same day.

On November 12, 2025, additional charges were laid against Tepper, now including two counts of theft over $5,000, two counts of fraud over $5,000, two counts of theft under $5,000, and two counts of fraud under $5,000. The total estimated value of items allegedly stolen exceeds $10,000.

This development has prompted an internal investigation within the Calgary Police Service, challenging the integrity of the force. The CPS has consistently emphasized its commitment to transparency and accountability, particularly as it works to maintain public trust through internal oversight and responsiveness to community concerns. Tepper’s alleged actions also come amidst ongoing efforts by the CPS to address a rise in retail crime impacting Calgary businesses, where shoplifting and organized theft have been notable concerns for retailers and the broader community.

Local residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activities as the service underscores its dedication to upholding public confidence in law enforcement. Tepper is scheduled to appear in court on December 17, 2025.
