Calgary Police Officers Charged in Sexual Misconduct Investigation

Three officers from the Calgary Police Service (CPS) have been charged with criminal offences involving sexual misconduct, stemming from two separate but related investigations. These probes were conducted by the CPS with oversight from the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT).

Constable Adam McBride, no longer with the CPS as of November 26, 2025, faces four counts of breach of trust. Constable David Harms is charged with two counts of breach of trust, while Constable Tyler Hobberstad faces charges of breach of trust and distributing an intimate image. Both Harms and Hobberstad have been relieved from duty without pay.

The investigations began in January 2025, underscoring the CPS's commitment to transparency and accountability. Chief Katie McLellan emphasized the seriousness with which these matters are taken, reflecting the department's dedication to maintaining public trust.
