Calgary's Gas Liquids Engineering Advances Major BC Energy Project
Calgary-based Gas Liquids Engineering Ltd. (GLE) has successfully completed its engineering scope for the Ridley Island Energy Export Facility (REEF) in British Columbia, marking a significant milestone for Canadian energy exports. The project, a joint venture between AltaGas Ltd. and Royal Vopak, aims to boost Canadian energy shipments to Asian markets.
Located near Prince Rupert, the REEF facility is engineered to handle 55,000 barrels per day of liquefied petroleum gas. This capacity is critical for enhancing Canada's global energy role and diversifying export opportunities. Ryan Arnold, GLE Vice President, acknowledged the achievement, stating, "This project is a milestone in our portfolio."
The successful completion of GLE's work underscores Calgary’s integral impact on national and international energy infrastructure. As a hub for energy engineering expertise, Calgary firms consistently contribute specialized knowledge and skilled professionals to major resource development projects across Canada. This project further solidifies the city's reputation and its ongoing contribution to the nation's energy landscape and economic prosperity.
